So you’ve got a date lined up, no need to break into cold sweats and general anxiety. Brampton has a plethora of date ideas for the adventure seeker, foodie, artist, romantic and everything in between. Here’s a list of ideas that are sure to score you some serious points with a date or significant other.
1. Ziplining adventure
Treetop Trekking is THE date for adventure seekers. Experience Heart Lake Conservation area from a bird’s-eye view through a variety of high ropes courses and zip lines across the park. You can even take a zip line directly across the water, spectacular view! A definite must for adrenaline junkies!
2. Arts & culture adventure
Is your date the artistic type? Enjoy one of Peel Art Gallery’s many exhibits throughout the summer. While you’re there, ask for a tour of the building too! The gallery is attached to Brampton’s old courthouse which has a rich history. PAMA has two outdoor courtyards with benches if you’re looking for a little bit of art and history with some fresh air thrown in too.
3. Movies under the stars

Cuddle up and watch a movie on the giant LED screen downtown every Saturday this summer in Garden Square. In fact, you can get in two movies if you want, because there’s one screening at 7 p.m. and one at 9 p.m. If you’re looking for a great date on a budget, this one’s free. Don’t forget a lawn chair and some kettle corn.
4. Dinner and a stroll
Looking for something a little more low-key? Take your date for a delicious bite at one of the many restaurants in downtown Brampton, followed by a stroll around town. Enjoy beautiful Gage Park, the Etobicoke Creek trail or take a self-guided walking tour of some historical sites downtown. Looking for some upscale dining? We recommend Fanzorelli’s or Aria Bistro & Lounge.
5. Trampolining at Aerosports
Trampolines never get old! Take your date out for a good time bouncing around and maybe even a round or two of trampoline dodgeball? It’s all the rage these days! If your date is sporty, they’ll appreciate the fun to be had at Aerosports. Grab a bite to fuel up after the shenanigans at a delicious local restaurant.
6. Dinner on the lake
Step 1: Pack a picnic basket of delicious finger foods. Step 2: Rent a canoe or paddle boat at Professor’s lake. Step 3: Paddle out and enjoy a romantic meal on the water. If that doesn’t impress your date, we don’t know what will!
7. Ice cream & live music
Looking to take someone out on the cheap? Take your date for a scoop of delicious ice cream downtown at Ice Cream Cafe or Little Shop of Ice Cream and enjoy some live music. The Friday Night Spotlight series in Garden Square features a lineup of up-and-coming young artists in the community. Enjoy a cone and bob your head to some great music. You can even dance if want. Music starts every Friday at 7:00 p.m. sharp.
8. Horseback riding at Claireville
The Claireville Conservation Area is the perfect place to escape for a quiet, tranquil date without having to leave the city. Walk the trails and check out the wildlife, or better yet, take your date on a romantic horseback ride. You can do that at Claireville Ranch, which is located at Queen Street East and McVean Drive in East Brampton.
9. Drinks on the patio
Whether it’s a cold beer on tap or a Cabernet, grab a comfy patio chair at The Works Burger Bistro, Vesuvio’s or another great patio around Brampton. Check out our favourites here.
10. Foodie adventure
Looking for something a little more unconventional? You’re sure to win your date over with a restaurant hop. Start off with drinks from at the eclectic Queen Gypsy Pub. Then hop on over to Fanzorelli’s, La Cappanina or Carve on Lot 5 for delicious appetizers and entrees. Top it all off with some gelato from Ice Cream Cafe.
