On Saturday night, dignitaries, royalty, and athletes packed the Air Canada Centre to celebrate the opening of the 2017 Invictus Games.

The Olympic-style event gives wounded military and ex-military personnel from countries around the world the opportunity to compete in various sports.

Prince Harry, the public face of the games, was in attendance along with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Melania Trump, and a host of other notables.

Brampton native Alessia Cara performed her single ‘Scars to your Beautiful’ at the opening ceremonies — a fitting number, given the nature of crowd she was performing for.

A host of Canadian talent took to the stage along with Cara during the two-hour event including Mike Myers, Sarah McLachlan, The Tenors (sans the band’s disgraced member), and others.
