Beaux-Arts Brampton’s annual Open Juried Photography Show opens this week in conjunction with with the Scotiabank CONTACT Festival of Photography.

Michele Taras, an internationally-exhibited, award-winning photographer, is judging entries. Cash prizes will be given to first, second, and third place winners. The awards ceremony will take place at Beaux-Arts Brampton’s opening reception on Thursday, May 10, 2018.

Michele Taras is a graduate of Sheridan College who was recognized as a “Sheridan Scholar” because of her high level of achievement. She also graduated from the acclaimed New York Institute of Photography and has been recognized by various prestigious international photographic awards. Taras’s work has appeared in Photo Life, Canada’s leading photography magazine, The Toronto Star, The Toronto Sun, and The Canadian Nurse’s Journal among other publications.

CONTACT is the largest photography event in the world, and a premiere cultural experience in Canada, with over 1500 artists in 200 exhibitions and happenings throughout the month in the Greater Toronto Area. Founded in 1997, CONTACT is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to celebrating and fostering the art and profession of photography.
