Brampton artists are about to converge on one of Toronto’s biggest music festivals — North by Northeast (NXNE).
The This is Brampton showcase will be completely dedicated to showcasing some of the up-and-coming talents from the city. Local artists Selena Dhillon, Everything OShaun, Vaz and Phab will take the stage to perform.
Brampton undeniably has talent. Alessia Cara’s Grammy win, Jessie Reyez’s JUNO Award, and Rupi Kaur’s sold-out global tour are proof of that. Now Brampton is taking it one step further to solidify itself as a bona fide cultural hub pushing some of the world’s most talented.
The showcase takes place on June 15, and it also coincides with the anticipated premiere of Superfly, a remake of the 1972 classic, and it’s directed by one of the 2018 inductees into the Brampton Arts Walk of Fame, Director X.
The city will be making a special announcement about Director X’s induction ceremony at the showcase, which will probably be a specially curated event to honour Director X–who may even make a special appearance.
The showcase will be hosted by multi-platinum music producer EestBound, who has produced tracks with Travis Scott, Young Thug and many more.
The event takes place at iconic Toronto music venue, Rivoli (334 Queen St. W., Toronto). Doors open at 9 p.m. and you can get your wristband at www.nxne.com.
