The long anticipated new library in the Springdale community is finally reaching completion.

Located at the northeast corner of Bramalea Road and Dewside Drive, the new open concept facility will have 20,000 square feet dedicated to library space, accompanied by 5,000 square feet of multi-purpose rooms.

Along with the soon-to-be library is a community park with children’s play equipment, splash pad, parking and a reflection garden.

With a $17 million budget, the building will have lots of natural light coming through its large windows, geothermal heating and a green and white roof.

This library has been promised for a few years now. It was slated to be finished in Summer of 2016 but was delayed. It’s expected to be completed this March.

The architect team, RDH, who put together the building, received an award of excellence in 2015. The full project is available for viewing here.
