Brampton Transit strike looms as negotiations continue into the weekend

If you’re relying on Brampton Transit for your Monday morning commute, you may want to start looking for a co-worker to carpool with or tune up the old bike just in case.

If negotiations don’t go well, drivers could be on strike as of Monday, May 9 at 12:01 a.m. leaving hundreds of thousands stranded without a way to travel in and around the city.

If drivers move ahead with a strike, all transit service will be unavailable and all transit facilities closed.

According to a city spokesperson, negotiations continue and the city is hopeful a settlement can be achieved before the May 9 deadline.

It’s certainly cutting it close though, a little over 48 hours remain for a settlement to be achieved.
