In late spring 2018 the Powerade Centre is going to have a new name. It will transfer from Coca Cola’s sponsorship and become the CAA Centre, sponsored by the Canadian Automobile Association of South Central Ontario (CAA SCO).

The CAA SCO will sponsor the sports complex for a ten-year period, during which they hope to increase access to cultural experiences and benefits beyond just their roadside assistance business.

And yes: CAA members will gain access to special offers, events and unique experiences at the CAA Centre.

Built in 1998, the multi-purpose arena has become one of the city’s sports and culture hub, hosting hundreds of events each year including major sporting events, headlining concerts and trade shows, and is the home of the ECHL’s Brampton Beast Hockey Club.

Coca Cola held the naming rights to the arena since 2005. Before the final transition date, the building will start to update signage, websites and other things at the facility to help residents, local sports clubs, transportation agencies and event promoters adjust to the new name.

An official celebration and sign lighting will take place at a later date. Keep checking back with Bramptonist to find the news as it happens.
