Construction has officially started on the Creditview Activity Hub located in Brampton’s northwest end, at the corner of Creditview Road and Sandalwood Parkway.

The park is going to be one-of-a-kind. Not only will it be part of Creditview Park’s 100-acre plot of land (second only in size to Chinguacousy Park) upon its completion, but it will also be fully compliant with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA).

The Activity Hub will be approximately 85,000 square feet and equipped with play elements for children with physical, mental and emotional challenges and disabilities.

These elements will include a basketball, bounce wall, 4-square and hopscotch, swings for all ages and abilities, junior/senior climbers, slides, sand tables, and a sway ship which will be wheelchair accessible.

The park will also have a fully accessible splash pad with the option to customize water and spray elements.

The Activity Hub won’t have sand, instead, it will have artificial turf, concrete asphalt, and rubberized play area, making it accessible and easier to navigate for everyone.

The park will take into account age progression, so the area will have play structures for children of various ages and will be laid out in a manner that allows for easier supervision and safety.

The Activity Hub will be the latest phase in the continued development of Creditview Park which has been under a phased construction plan since 2005. This latest phase is slated to finish in 2018.
