Horror movie heavyweight Blumhouse Productions is in Brampton this month shooting its latest film Seven in Heaven.

The company is best known for popular movies like Paranormal Activity, The Purge, Insidious, M. Night Shyamalan’s Split and most recently, Jordan Peele’s Get Out.

Seven In Heaven is based on the popular high school game Seven Minutes in Heaven. Two friends  June and Jude enter a hidden closet and they emerge in an alternate reality where everything is not as it seems. The two must race against time to get home before the closet closes forever.

The movie stars Travis Tope who has previously had roles in Independence Day: ResurgenceBoardwalk Empire, X-Men: The Last Stand and Into The Wild.

The film is set to shoot in and around downtown Brampton and will mean road closures on July 18 and August 2 in the area of Chapel Street and Wellington Street.
