Back in May, Transportation Minister Steven Del Duca announced PRESTO cards would be sold at Shoppers Drug Mart, and the program rolled out almost immediately at locations across Toronto.

Now Brampton is catching up. The City of Brampton is about to sign a new 10-year deal with PRESTO — pending council approval — that will bring PRESTO sales to Shoppers Drug Mart locations across Brampton.

The program would allow transit riders to purchase cards and load them with funds and passes at participating stores, which is expected to be at least half the locations in Brampton.

Currently, PRESTO cards can only be loaded online or at Brampton’s four transit terminals, and the new program will give transit riders more options for loading their cards.

The exact date sales would start has not been outlined, but stay tuned to Bramptonist.com for more details as they become available.
