If you didn’t manage to snag a coveted ticket to T By Daniel’s royal wedding viewing party, we may have an alternative for you.
The City of Brampton just announced that it will be airing the full affair on the big screen in Garden Square starting at 4 a.m. on Saturday, May 19.
It’s going to be an early one, thanks to the time zone differences between the UK and Canada, but the next royal wedding of this size likely won’t happen until little Prince George, who’s only 4 years old, ties the knot.
Meghan Markle should walk down the aisle to Prince Harry at about 7 a.m. Brampton time in what’s sure to be a stunning dress, given that it’s estimated to have cost around $250,000.
The whole wedding will cost upwards of $50 million and you’ll be able to watch the whole thing (well most of it) on the big screen.
This royal wedding has a strong Canadian connection. Not only did Markle live in Toronto while she was an actor on the series Suits, but three of Jessica and Ben Mulroney’s children (son of former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney,) will be in the wedding party.
Meghan doesn’t have a Maid of Honour, so her bestie Jessica won’t be able to fill that role, but it’s been speculated that Mulroney may act as the chief bridesmaid, keeping all the children wrangled.
Some of the wedding details have been kept under wraps despite the media coverage, so there’s a lot to look forward to on May 19.
Don’t forget your lawn chair, a blanket and probably a Thermos of coffee — downtown Brampton’s Starbucks location doesn’t open until 6 a.m.
