Whether you’re catching a show at The Rose or partaking in the fun at Garden Square, knowing all of your parking options in downtown Brampton will make for a stress-free visit.

Downtown Brampton has many municipal lots, street parking with meters and spots along a number of roads with the option to pay and display.

Below is your ultimate guide to all of the downtown’s parking options.

Municipal Parking Garages

The city has 5 municipal parking garages downtown — below City Hall, the Rose Theatre most notably. All garages are free for the first hour and operate Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Lots are free after 7 p.m. on weekdays as well as on weekends.

Pay and Display

With the city’s Pay and Display method, you purchase a ticket from a machine and display it in your window. Machines accept coins and credit cards, offering a little bit of flexibility with your payment method.

Most Pay and Display street parking downtown costs $2 per hour from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Monday through Saturday — Sundays are free. A few streets, Thomas Street, Market Street and Elizabeth Street, are a little bit cheaper at $1 per hour. These streets require a ticket from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and are free on weekends for up to three hours.

Parking Meters

The city is in the process of converting all of its parking meters into pay and display machines, so some parking meters still remain in a couple of areas — George Street and Nelson Street most notably.

From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. meters are $2 per hour and are free anytime before 9 a.m. and after 6 p.m. for a maximum of three hours from Monday to Saturday. Sundays are free at any time.
