Hamilton is known for its abundance of waterfalls, and they all have their merits. Chedoke Falls in particular, one of the area’s more secluded falls, is one of the most stunning.
The 18-meter high waterfall is fed by an underground creek on the part of the Niagara Escarpment on the west side of Hamilton. The falls are surrounded by a rounded rock face and have a beautiful turquoise pool at the bottom which is perfect for swimming and wading.
It’s easily one of Hamilton’s most picturesque waterfalls, and because it’s challenging to get to it tends to be far more low-key. The terrain is steep and rocky, but if you’re up for the challenge you’ll be well-rewarded with stunning views and the perfect place to go for a swim.
The hike to Chedoke Falls will take you past other waterfalls like Lower Chedoke Falls and Denlow Falls, making it even more worth your time and effort.
