According to the 2015 Canadian UFO Survey, 11 extraterrestrial sightings were reported in Brampton last year, putting the city at the top of the list for sightings in the region.
Ufology Research of Manitoba has been collecting data on sightings in Canada since 1989. Data is compiled on an annual basis in the Canadian UFO survey as a way to promote public knowledge and awareness of ufology–or the study of UFOs–in Canada.
Across the country over 1,260 sightings were reported in 2015, about two or three each day. It’s the second-highest number of sightings recorded in the country over the last 30 years. 2012 was a particularly busy year with over 1,900 sightings. This was thought to be due in part to conspiracy theories surrounding the Mayan Calendar and talks of the so-called end of days.
Many of the sightings reported in Brampton may have plausible explanations but about 12 percent were deemed unexplained, which means maybe, just maybe, means they were UFOs.
Incidentally, our neighbour to the south, Mississauga, reported 9 sightings last year.
