4 dead in major car accident on Bovaird Drive

Sections of Bovaird Drive and Hurontario Street remained closed into Tuesday afternoon as crews worked to clear up a serious collision that occurred Monday night.

Peel Police received numerous calls around 8:45 p.m. on October 10 for the firey collision that has left four dead.

Constable Mark Fischer confirmed a Pontiac travelling westbound on Bovaird Drive crossed over into the eastbound lanes for unknown reasons, colliding with a Kia carrying three passengers.

Paramedics and firefighters found two vehicles engulfed in flames as they arrived on the scene.

The driver of the Pontiac was a 49 year old man from Brampton. The Kia was driven by a 24 year old driver and their passengers were two sisters, aged 16 and 22.

All were found dead on the scene.

Police are currently investigating what caused the driver of the Pontiac to lose control.
