5 events in Brampton this weekend you definitely don’t want to miss

It’s a jam-packed weekend in Brampton with tons going on across the city. We’ve rounded up 5 noteworthy events you definitely don’t want to miss out on!

1. Laneway Parties

Downtown Brampton’s various laneways will be filled with music, dancing, food and drinks this weekend. All laneways are throwing themed parties, with tons to do.

  • Times Square Fiesta, a Latin American celebration, will take place in Daily Times Square
  • Marley’s Lane, an ode to the Caribbean will take place in Hamsworth Lane
  • British Invasion, a tribute to Britain, will take place in McArter Lane
  • Mela N’ Gale, a South Asian soiree, will take place

2. Bollywood Monster Mashup does Brampton

Bollywood Monster Mashup, Canada’s largest South Asian festival is coming to Brampton for an epic comedy and urban music showcase on Saturday July 16 at 9 p.m.

The show will feature the comedic stylings of Azfar Ali, Crystal Ferrier, Ernie VicenteNitish Sakhuja Comedian and headliner Ben Mathai. It’s going to be a hilarious night!

On the music side, Brampton artists Selena DhillonDaysdeaf, rapper RAJAN, and beatboxer EnKaye will perform as well. Tickets are $15. More details here.

3. Jazz on George St

Part of George St. will be shut down to make way for the musical stylings of a Cuban Jazz band. Enjoy the music, some dancing and some food and drinks from the extended patios at Sul Irmaos Smokehouse and Dum Dum’s.

4. BIncognito

Bincognito’s mission is to bring a social scene to Brampton and they’re hosting their first event on Friday July 15 from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. at a restaurant in Brampton. There will be a DJ spinning old school hip hop, great drinks and $6 appetizers. Who’s ready to dance?! More details here.

5. A 1950s Weekend

If you like to get down old school style, then you’ll want to be downtown on Saturday. Enjoy a parade of vintage cars at 1:30 p.m. along Main Street then stick around for Grease The Movie on the big screen from 5- 7 p.m. There will be lots of food and drink vendors offering great eats along Main St and George St. and a live band will perform Sinatra’s best hits from 8-10 p.m. in Garden Square. All the details can be found here.
