Have you brushed off the first snowfall of the year this week? Then prepare to dig yourself a path out for work next week.

Widespread snow is expected on Monday and through Monday night for southern Quebec and Ontario, including the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

This comes from a significant system approaching us north from the U.S. border, affecting areas of London and upwards with snow squalls this weekend.

Snow is estimated to reach 5-10 cm along the HWY 401 corridor and in the GTA.

Generally, temperatures gradually dip in November, but we have been experiencing colder-than-usual temperatures which are expected to persist throughout the month.

The Weather Network continues to report on tracking the system. For Brampton, flurries and rain are expected during the weekend, with high chances of snow as described, on Monday and Thursday. There will also be gusts of wind persisting through the week, with the highest predicted for Tuesday.

Be prepared, Brampton! Get our your parka and snow boots to brave transit. Give yourself extra time to reach where you’re going, whether it is transit, cycling, or driving. Salt your driveways. Top up your cars with winter windshield wiper fluid, and if you’ve not yet changed over to winter tires, now’s the time. And of course, adjust your driving habits to match conditions. All road-users, including pedestrians, should use extra caution.
