Local entrepreneur Chantal Carter Taylor launched Canada’s first line of intimates for women of colour back in 2017 and now she’s looking to expand her business with help from the infamous Dragons.

Taylor launched Love & Nudes after she spotted a huge gap in the Canadian lingerie industry — companies were only offering nude toned intimates in light shades.

In her research she found 72% of women prefer nude toned bras and underwear over black, white and other colours, but not every woman could find intimates to match their skin tone.

Love & Nudes is already getting rave reviews. It’s been featured in CBCBuzzfeedThe Huffington PostEbony, and other media outlets. Now the company is going in front of the Dragons to ask for funding and support.

Taylor isn’t the first local entrepreneur to go in front of the dragons. A couple of years ago Balbir Sohi pitched the Dragons for an investment in her mobile dental hygiene business Smiles on Wheels. Sohi’s company provides teeth cleanings on the go, so long as there’s a parking spot. She was able to secure a $250,000 investment on the show.

Taylor’s episode was shot in 2019 and airs Thursday, February 28 at 8 p.m. on CBC.
