If you’ve ever gotten married or ever had a big wedding in your family, you know that the planning process can be long, tedious and stressful — especially if you’re planning a South Asian wedding, where multiple pre-wedding events are common.

One Brampton entrepreneur is taking the stress and the chaos out of the process with a new app called Bride & Groomed.

Bride & Groomed is a one-stopshop for South Asian wedding planning, with three main functions, vendors, planning and a guest list. The app connects couples and wedding planners to vendors — everything from venues and caterers, to horse rentals and travel agents.

Users can directly connect with vendors in the app, see their websites and social media profiles, as well as request quotes and leave reviews.

Kapil dreamed up the idea after attending many weddings over the last couple of years, including her brother’s. “I’ve seen first-hand how hard it can be and especially for South Asian weddings because there are so many events that lead up to the wedding day. I tried to find ways to make the process easier, but I couldn’t find anything,” says Kapil.

On the planning side of things, the app has a bunch of resources to make the process more seamless, including budgets, checklists and a timeline — so just about everything you need to keep track of all of the wedding and all of the events leading up to it. The app also has a function to keep track of guest lists, which can be broken up by the various events happening throughout the wedding celebrations.

Bride & Groomed is completely free for brides and grooms to use. Currently, the app has 120 pre-registered vendors from across the Greater Toronto Area, and it’s available in the iOS app store. For more information check out www.thebrideandgroomed.com.
