Winter is slowly creeping in, but thanks to our good friend El Nino, Canada could be in for a milder than usual winter with less snow.

Meteorologists were predicting an El Nino last year — which happens in the pacific near the equator when warm water combines with a shift in atmospheric circulation — but it never happened. They are now calling for one this year.

Depending on the intensity of El Nino, Ontario may feel its effects. If it’s moderate to strong, we can expect warmer temperatures and more rain. The subfreezing temperatures from last year are history!
