Powerhouse vocalist Alessia Cara is teaming up with Joe Jonas to host this year’s iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards.
The Brampton-raised singer has been tearing up the music industry since the release of her debut single ‘Here’.
Cara is no stranger to the MMVAs stage, the singer performed her single ‘Wild Things’ at last year’s show and was crowned Best New Canadian Artist.
This year Cara goes up against music heavyweights Drake, Justin Bieber, The Weeknd and Sean Mendes for Fan Fave Artist or Group.
Back in 2015 Cara released her debut album ‘Know-It-All’ with featuring her chart topping singles ‘Wild Things and ‘Scar To Your Beautiful.
Since then she’s opened up award shows toured with music industry greats like Coldplay, and her recent single with EDM producer Zedd has made it to Top 3 on Billboard music charts.
In other news, Brampton creators YouTwoTV are up for a Fan Choice Award for Best Creators. Voting has closed so you’ll have to tune in on June 18 to see whether they bring home the big W.
