In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Amazon is coming under fire for reportedly allowing workers at a warehouse located in Peel Region to return to work without the suggest quarantine after international travel.

According to a tweet by Brampton City Councillor Harkirat Singh (Wards 9 and 10) anonymous reports came in from Amazon employees currently working at a warehouse located just outside Brampton. The reports said employees were returning to work from international travel without self-quarantining for 14 days.

Numerous organizations across the country, including Health Canada and the Ministry of Health, are asking that anyone that has recently travelled outside of Canada quarantine themselves for 14 days upon their return to avoid the spread of the virus.

In many people, COVID-19 symptoms aren’t immediately apparent, so health organizations have all echoed the need for travellers to stay quarantined for two weeks — even if symptoms are not present — to stop themselves from unknowingly spreading the virus to others.

As of now Amazon has not responded to the allegations.
