MonstrARTity, the creators of the popular festival Bollywood Monster Mashup, is launching a new festival in Brampton.

Last year the team dipped their toes with a show ‘Bollywood Does Brampton’ last year at the rose theatre, and this year they’re making an even bigger splash.

On June 1 and 2 they’re kicking off Monster World Mashup, a two-day festival bringing together a bunch of different art forms — comedy, urban world music, spoken word and visual arts exhibits.

The show has an epic lineup planned including — Filipino-Canadian poet, emcee and rapper HANHAN, Latin hip-hop group Los Poetas and hip-hop artists Stay Out Late. Seasoned comedians Amish Patel, Paul Thompson, Chris Robinson and others are expected to perform as well.

Of course, the festival wouldn’t be complete without some Brampton talent. Local Hip Hop artists Noyz and B Magic, the duo that makes up Movin’ Cool, as well as the awesomely talented female emcee and rapper Haviah Mighty, will also perform.

Friday, June 1 the action happens at The Den at Sheridan College. It will be an exclusive ticketed event entertaining audiences with a series of comedy acts, an innovative visual arts showcase, and a secret concert. Comedians Amish Patel, Keesha Brownie, Crystal Ferrier, Nitish Sakhuja, Chris Robinson and Paul Thompson will perform, but as for the musical entertainment, you’ll have to attend to find out because it’s all a secret.
On June 2 the event moves to Garden Square with performances from Movin’ Cool, Stay Out late, Los Poetas and HANHAN hitting the stage for an incredible outdoor show in Brampton. Tickets for the event and more information is available at www.monsterworldmashup.com.
