Four people in Brampton have been arrested by Peel Regional Police for illegally selling cannabis. The arrests were traced to an investigation that started this month of an illegal pot dispensary on Queen Street East.

Last week officers with a search warrant came to the location on Queen Street East at around 12:30 p.m. and arrested four people who were charged for illegally selling cannabis. The suspects were also charged for operating a non-essential business under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act.

Officers discovered 3.3 kg of cannabis as well as other cannabis-related products. The four people who were arrested and charged will present themselves to the Provincial Offences Court in June.

There is currently only one legal cannabis store in Brampton, Ganjika House on Main Street South near Nanwood Drive. There are applications for possible future stores, however.
