Brampton’s Winter Lights Festival: Celebrate the Season with Mayor Brown and City Council at the Annual Tree Lighting

Nov 14, 2024 –

The City of Brampton is thrilled to kick off the holiday season with its annual Winter Lights Festival, which includes the official Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Mayor Patrick Brown and the City Council warmly invite all residents to take part in this festive community celebration.

Event Details:

  • Date: Friday, November 15, 2024
  • Time: 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM
  • Tree Lighting Ceremony: 6:45 PM
  • Location: Ken Whillans Square, Brampton, ON

The evening will start with the Miracle on Main Street event, offering a range of family-friendly activities, including amusement rides, food vendors, and stunning winter light displays. The highlight of the festival will be the lighting of a grand 60-foot spruce tree, beautifully decorated with over 10,000 lights, symbolizing the holiday spirit and togetherness of the Brampton community.

Mayor Patrick Brown shared his excitement for the event, saying, “We’re delighted to usher in the holiday season with Brampton’s Winter Lights Festival, a beloved tradition in our city. The Tree Lighting Ceremony and Santa Claus Parade offer two days of festive joy, bringing together residents and visitors alike. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to give back, so I encourage everyone to support the toy drive through Miracle on Main Street. I look forward to seeing the joy this event brings to families throughout Brampton.”

Admission to the festivities on Friday is free with the donation of a new, unwrapped toy, which will go to support local Brampton organizations in collaboration with the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation. Complimentary parking is available at various downtown locations, including the City Hall Garage, West Tower Garage, Market Square Garage, Nelson Square Garage, George Street North Surface Lot, and John Street Garage.

The City of Brampton extends its appreciation to the event sponsors who made this celebration possible: Fieldgate Developments, Alectra Utilities, CAA, TD, and Tim Hortons.
