Brampton Music Theatre is now accepting applications to audition for roles in its upcoming production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. The musical production will run in the fall of 2018.

Based on the Victor Hugo novel and songs from the Disney animated feature, The Hunchback of Notre Dame showcases the film’s Academy Award-nominated score, as well as new songs by Menken and Schwartz.

Auditions will be held at 115 Orenda Road on Sunday, May 27; Monday, May 28; and Wednesday, May 30; with callbacks on Thursday, May 31.

Anyone wishing to audition for a lead role can sing a 32-bar phrase from any musical from the last 25 years. Auditions will be five minutes in length. Those who plan to audition should come prepared with a karaoke backing track only (no piano accompaniment will be provided).

Anyone wishing to audition for the Hunchback choir must sing an excerpt from a classical piece of music, preferably in Latin or French. The people auditioning can sing selected choir material or use Royal Conservatory music grade 8 or above in their appropriate range. Some understanding of Latin pronunciation is a plus.

Those wishing to audition as an actor are asked to prepare a one-minute monologue that demonstrates vulnerability as an actor.
