January 4, 2024 – Regional Police Fraud Bureau has apprehended 42-year-old Hardish Khinda of Norval for alleged renovation frauds in Mississauga and Brampton. The arrest follows investigations into a series of incidents between September 2021 and February 2023.
Khinda, AKA Sunny, conducted business through Weaver Home Improvement and North Side Renovations. Authorities accuse him of signing five renovation contracts, pocketing $37,000 in deposits, and subsequently failing to deliver on promised services or refund deposits.
On November 23, 2023, investigators arrested and charged Khinda with Defrauding the Public. He appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on December 18, 2023. The police suspect additional victims and urge them to come forward.
