Calling all halal foodies! Finding places that serve halal food can sometimes be a challenge, but not to worry! We’ve rounded up a bunch of little gems across the city where you can indulge. Check out this list.

Sbarro

Sbarro is one of the scarce halal options on the food scene at Bramalea City Centre. The meat they use on their pizzas is halal, including the pepperoni which is beef. As of right now, Sbarro has closed down in the secondary food court at the Bramalea City Centre but it’s set to reopen soon in the main food court so be on the lookout.

Many hakka restaurants in Brampton tend to use halal meat but Fusion Flame easily serves up some of the best hakka food in the city. The Manchurian Chicken just so happens to be a crowd favourite and the Fusion Flame fish is pretty delicious too.

Paramount is taking over the Middle Eastern food scene, with locations sprouting up across Canada, Brampton being one of those lucky cities. The menu is vast, with offerings for every meal of the day. Wraps, pita, hummus, pizza and so much more is available. It’s a crowd pleaser no doubt, with options to suit lots of tastes.

Kwality Sweets and Restaurant

If you’re like me and adore Indian food, then you’ll appreciate what Kwality has to offer. I recently discovered this little gem and I fell in love. They have a wide variety of veg and non-veg options to choose from, including a delicious butter chicken. Their selection of sweets is vast too. Their prices won’t hurt your wallet too much either. For just $9.00, you can get a vegetarian thali that includes 3 vegetable curries with rice, raita (a cool condiment, similar to yogurt), salad, achar (a condiment containing pickles), dessert and your choice between naan, roti or extra rice. How amazing is that?

How can one make a list of food places without adding in a Caribbean restaurant? Drupati’s Roti and Doubles on Sandalwood is an amazing choice for authentic food that tastes great with prices and portion sizes that really gives you a bang for your buck. Students can also flash their ID cards to get a special discount!

You don’t have to be French to love a good poutine. But as a halal eater, you know the struggles of finding a place that serves gravy that’s vegetarian and delicious is especially hard. The good news is, Dare to Be Fresh has you covered. They have plenty of delicious options, including an onion ring poutine! My personal favourite is their Krabby Patty & Shrimp poutine, it’s super good.
