Bramalea City Centre is set to once again host the largest indoor Diwali celebration on Diwali weekend—and admission is free!

The 6th annual Suhaag Festival of Lights will have plenty of fun for families, with traditional and modern music and dance, a variety of delicious Indian foods, and other activities. Some of the dances will be bhangra, gidda, dhol, garba and classical. There’s even a Bollywood Dance Workshop for guests to have fun and learn some of the iconic dance moves.

Diwali, celebrated by both Hindus and Sikhs (though all are welcome), is also called Bandi Chhor Divas or The Festival of Lights. The holiday symbolizes inner light fighting against spiritual darkness, and that’s why it takes place on the dark night of the new moon after the summer harvest. Typical celebrations include fire, lights, candles, fireworks, and much more.

The Suhaag Festival of Lights will run on Saturday, October 26, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, October. 27, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., at Bramalea City Centre, at 25 Peel Centre Drive.
