Imagine a world in which young women grew up with the self-confidence and self-esteem to be comfortable in their own skin. That’s exactly what Bramalea City Centre and its partner Big Brother Big Sisters is trying to achieve with its second annual BeYou campaign.
The campaign celebrates and promotes uniqueness and self-love through interactive programming designed to help increase personal growth, self-esteem and empowerment of young women.
This year’s event kicks off on Thursday, September 21 with a performance by the talented local dance company Jade’s Hip Hop Academy at 5 p.m., followed by a performance by Canadian singer and songwriter Tara Shannon, who wrote a song titled ‘Be You’ specifically for the campaign.

Performance by Tara Shannon
Canadian award-winning singer and songwriter Tara Shannon released the BeYou anthem and music video for the female empowerment BeYou campaign, and will be performing it at the opening event.
