North by Northeast (NXNE) just announced its 2018 lineup of curators — acts like Leah Fey (July Talk), K-OS, Jim Cuddy (Blue Rodeo) and a ton more are on the list — and this year some of Brampton’s very own will be showcased alongside these big names.

The festival’s lineup of events will include This is Brampton, a showcase featuring budding artists with Brampton roots.

The showcase will take over Toronto’s iconic music venue the Rivoli (334 Queen Street. W, Toronto) on Friday, June 15.

As of now the lineup of artists for the Brampton showcase has yet to be decided. The City of Brampton has put out a call for local musicians, recording artists and bands from all genres to submit applications.

Some of NXNE’s tastemakers and curators (like the ones mentioned above) will choose which artists will join the Brampton showcase.

Artists can apply by submitting an application to culture@brampton.ca no later than April 27 at 4 p.m.

If you want to check out the This is Brampton showcase and the rest of the events, wristbands are already on sale and information about the festival is available at nxne.com
