You may have seen the ‘My Brampton’ sign making its rounds at city events this summer.

The sign was launched back in June at CeleBrampton, the city’s annual kickoff to summer. Since then it’s been at Canada Day and there’s no doubt it will be at the giant street party happening downtown this weekend.

The sign isn’t permanent, thus its ability to be moved from event to event. It’s a test run to gauge reception from residents and to encourage interactive public art.

There are pros and cons. A permanent sign could look great, and if it takes cues from Toronto, Ottawa and now Hamilton, it could light up and look even cooler.

There are pros to keeping it mobile too. It’s nice that it can pop up at different events across the city.

What do you think? Should Brampton go all the way and build a permanent sign like Toronto?
