Brampton Library announced this week that late fees on most children’s items have been eliminated.
As of September 4, children can borrow up to 50 items at a time at any of the city’s 7 library branches without incurring any late fees. Of course, items will still have to be returned in good condition.
“As part of our strategic plan, Brampton Library strives to be a neighbourhood champion and a place for belonging. Supporting both and working toward barrier-free access for all, we are pleased to announce the removal of overdue fines on most children’s materials. There has never been a better time to visit a branch, engage with our knowledgeable staff and explore the opportunities of library membership for everyone in your family,” says Brampton Library CEO Rebecca Raven.
The no late fees policy applies to all children’s books, DVDs and other items. The only exclusions are launch pads and lightning loan items — which still have to be returned within their 7 day lending period to avoid late fees.
