On January 21, 2019, Brampton City Council voted to allow privately-owned cannabis retail stores in Brampton. With the approval of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), the very first private cannabis retail store, Ganjika House, opened in April this year.

Now the city has received a notification from AGCO that an application has been received to open another cannabis retail store in the Brampton. The proposed second store location will be at 2933 Queen Street East, Unit E5 if it passes the comment period. There is not yet a tentative opening date announced, but it looks like it would be called 360 Cannabis.

The public notice period ends July 4, so if you have anything to say to the government before that date, head to this AGCO website here.

The Province of Ontario has announced there will be a maximum of six stores made available in the GTA region (Durham, York, Peel, and Markham) and that retailers will not allow anyone under the age of 19 to enter their stores even with a parent or guardian.
