Recently Brampton received recognition as one of the Top 10 Mid-Sized American City of the Future 2019/2020 by fDi Intelligence, a division of The Financial Times (UK).

Brampton ranked first in the connectivity category and eighth in the Top 10 for business friendliness. The city was ranked against 218 cities across the Americas.

“These awards reinforce Brampton’s position as a world-class city and a prime location for global businesses to invest,” says Mayor Patrick Brown. “Our focus on building the types of assets that attract investment and capitalizing on the city’s strengths positions us well to compete in the global investment community.”

This isn’t the first time Brampton received recognition from fDi Intelligence. For the past eight years, the City has won or been placed in higher rankings in such categories as business friendliness, city of the future, infrastructure, and connectivity. The results of the rankings can be seen here.

Last month, Brampton’s Economic Development and Culture Office presented its own step-by-step plan to increase jobs and growth in Brampton by building strong economic bridges around the world. The goal is to show that Brampton can be a city for opportunities.
