If you’re no stranger to Bramptonist, then changes are you’ve heard us rave about Rick’s Good Eats before.
The restaurant is owned and operated by Brampton Chef Rick Matharu, winner of Food Network’s Recipe to Riches with his famous Butter Chicken Lasagna.
Rick’s Punjabi Canadian fusion restaurant just topped Canada’s list of best restaurants based on Yelp reviews.
There are lots of reasons why Yelpers are taking to the internet in droves to rave about the restaurant, which currently holds a perfect unblemished 5 stars after 8 months in operation.
Their innovative menu is packed with complex, well constructed flavours. They take comfort food classics like fried chicken and mac ‘n cheese and put the RGE spin on it, creating something completely different. You won’t find many restaurants in the GTA serving up jerk chicken samosas, fries chaat, butter chicken mac ‘n cheese and burgers with Tandoori bacon.
“Each recipe we turn out is a piece of our Punjabi-Canadian background, heritage, and family history,” says Rick.
The fusion flavours at RGE pay homage to the 905 and its strong identity as a melting pot for so many cultures.
“Our hometown is so important to our story. Ricks Good Eats is Brampton. It is Peel Region. In this city you can visit Jamaica, India, Vietnam, Italy, Portugal, and a hundred other countries without even leaving.”
The service is just as spectacular as the food too. Rick and his staff go above and beyond to make sure everyone stepping in the door feels a part of the family.
The open, inviting culture shows in the food. Its made with passion and care, and that shows in the delicious eats they serve up everyday.
Throw in the modern, but cozy interior with giant murals and pieces of work by local artists, and you’ll experience something truthfully worth all of the hype and praise.
Ricks Good Eats is located on the border of Brampton and Mississauga at 6660 Kennedy Rd.
