January 14, 2024 – In a recent development, a social worker employed at a shelter in Brampton, Gairy Stephens, 41, has been charged by the Peel Regional Police Special Victims Unit in connection with a sexual assault investigation.
The alleged incident took place on November 17, 2023, at a shelter in Brampton. The victim reported that during their time at the shelter, Stephens sexually assaulted and exposed himself to them.
On January 10, 2024, Gairy Stephens was apprehended by the police, who subsequently charged him with Sexual Assault and an Indecent Act in a Public Place. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on February 12, 2024.
