Eminem just dropped a surprise record Kamikaze, and Brampton-raised singer Jessie Reyez is featured in a couple of tracks.
Reyez, who was born in Toronto and grew up in Brampton, is known for her unique raspy tone. Her stardom has been rising over the past couple of years with MTV Music Award nominations, appearances on The Jimmy Fallon Show, and a very successful first EP, Kiddo.
Kamikaze is executive-produced by Eminem’s longtime collaborator Dr. Dre. Mike WiLL Made-It is also credited on several tracks, along with illaDaProducer. The record also has appearances from Tay Keith, Boi 1da, Royce da 5’9″, Joyner Lucas and Kendrick Lamar, to name a few.
Reyez is featured in two tracks, number 11 “Nice Guy” and 12 “Good Guy”. In “Nice Guy”, which is said to be about Eminem’s relationship status, Reyez sings the chorus and in a couple of verses. “Good Guy” follows the same relationship theme in track 11, and in this track Reyez sports her unique sound throughout the chorus.
