It’s official, Na’Shantéa Miller of Brampton is going to fulfill her dream of attending Harvard University.
A month after running a crowdfunding campaign to pay her first years’ tuition, Miller says she’s successfully secured enough funds to attend Harvard’s Kennedy School to work towards a Masters in Public Policy.
Miller, A Turner Fenton Secondary School graduate, was accepted into the program but had just weeks to come up with the C$113,000 to pay for her first year. She started a GoFundMe campaign to raise $75,000, which along with her savings, would be enough to cover the costs.
Harvard required Miller to show she had the necessary C$113,000 to cover her first year, and she was offered a loan by a company to help make up the difference, but it didn’t meet Harvard’s criteria.
