An employee at a Tim Hortons located in a Petro-Canada gas station on Hurontario at Mayfield in Brampton has tested positive for COVID-19.

Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown tweeted on the morning of March 22, 2020 that anyone attending the Time Hortons/Petro-Canada located at 11980 Hurontario Street from March 9 to 20 to self-isolate and monitor their for symptoms for 14 days.

However, a statement by Peel Public Health released later the same day read, “Contrary to reports on media and social media today, customers at a Tim Horton’s/Petro Canada location in north Brampton are not considered to be at risk of┬áCOVID-19.”

It said of the region’s investigation, “The investigation also determined that none of these close contacts were customers and that no public exposure had occurred.”
