Brampton Transit was created in 1976 from the amalgamation of Bramalea’s Dial-A-Bus service of the 1970s and bus operations in the old town of Brampton.
Over the years the transit union has grown to have over 10 million riders and it’s fleet of buses have evolved with the needs of the community. Have a look at Brampton Transit’s buses in their various incarnations over the years.
1970s
Manufactured in the 950s and 60s and ran on Brampton roads in the 1970s and 1980s.
Manufactured in 1957 and ran on the roads in the ’70s and ’80s.
Manufacture date unknown. Ran on Brampton roads in the mid-1970s. This particular image was captured in 1975.
1980s
The middle bus is a 1982 model and the bus on the far right is a 1987 model.
1990s
The most visible bus is in this image is a 1991 model. The photo was taken at the old Bramalea City Centre terminal that was located on Clark Blvd pre-2010.
Brampton Transit’s infamous double-decker buses were manufactured in the 1980s and ran on city roads well into the late 1990s.
2000s
