Starting May 12th Brampton Transit is making some changes to PRESTO adult fares, which is being done according to a recommendation approved by Brampton City Council. The change, however, will not affect cash fares; PRESTO fares for children, youths and seniors; or GO Transit co-fares.

The following changes will be made to PRESTO adult fares on May 12th:

PRESTO single adult ride: $3.10

PRESTO adult weekly pass: $34.00

PRESTO adult monthly pass: $128.00

The fare change is intended to generate additional revenues of $1.1 million in 2019 to help Brampton Transit finance service improvements and expansion. Brampton Transit plans to increase the number of buses in the city (five 60 ft. articulated buses and seven 40 ft. conventional buses) and provide an additional 81,000 service hours.

“Our priority is to provide a safe and reliable transit service,” says Alex Milojevic, General Manager of Brampton Transit. “With our ridership growth, we’re focusing on adding more buses and frequencies to our routes to provide a better customer experience while using our service. This fare increase will help ensure that our riders have better options for their daily commute.”

Brampton seniors will receive a fare reduction as Brampton Transit will have $15 monthly seniors passes ready either by the end of the year or sometime in early 2020.
