After discussing matters with the Brampton Emergency Management Office and the Region of Peel, and in keeping with neighbouring municipalities, the City of Brampton has cancelled all city festivals, events and performances and community event permits for anything happening at any city facility or performing arts centres (including The Rose). This cancellation in response to the COVID-19 crisis is through July 1, 2020 as of this writing on April 16.

This decision also includes city-led events such as Victoria Day, Canada Day, and National Indigenous Peoples Day. The City of Brampton is considering alternate digital options for residents to celebrate these events as a community with physical distancing practices in mind. The city is also planning alternate arrangements for the Brampton Farmers’ Market.

The City of Brampton is also planning to work with event organizers and rental clients to mitigate the impacts of cancellations and plan out potential future dates once COVID-19 is contained and economic recovery efforts happen. There will be no new event bookings until further notice from Peel Public Health.

City Hall and all other Brampton facilities, including recreation centres, community centres, and Library branches remain closed until further notice.
