All city festivals, events, performances and community event permits for events at city facilities and performing arts centres, including The Rose, are cancelled until Labour Day on September 7, 2020, in response to COVID-19.
This cancellation is an extension of the one already in place. According to a statement by the City of Brampton, this extension was done with guidance from the Brampton Emergency Management Office, Peel Public Health, and in alignment with neighbouring municipalities.
The statement also said that the city is committed to working with event organizers and rental clients to mitigate the impacts of these cancellations and to determine potential future dates in accordance with Peel Public Health. No new event bookings will be considered until there is further direction on large gatherings from the Ontario Government and Peel Public Health.
In addition, City Hall and most other City of Brampton facilities, including Recreation and Community Centres and Brampton Library branches, will remain closed until further notice to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
