Young Brampton residents have another reason to look forward to summer. The City has reopened applications for its popular Explore Brampton Youth Pass, giving teens free access to transit and recreation programs for the entire summer season — but the window to apply is closing fast.
The City is continuing the Explore Brampton Youth Pass program in 2026, offering young residents free access to Brampton Transit and select recreation opportunities throughout the summer. Up to 2,500 passes will be available for youth aged 12 to 16.
Passholders will enjoy free rides on Brampton Transit and complimentary access to recreation drop-in programs — including swimming, skating, and select sports — running from July 1 to September 6, 2026. That’s over two months of free activities designed to keep young people active and connected to their community.
Applications are open until May 17, 2026. Eligible youth can apply online and will be required to pick up their pass in person at select recreation locations. Parents and guardians are encouraged to help their children apply before the deadline, as passes are limited and expected to fill up quickly.
The program is part of a much larger vision for youth in the city. Developed in collaboration with more than 1,200 youth, City staff, community partners and consultants, Brampton’s 2026–2030 Youth Engagement Strategy outlines a comprehensive plan to engage residents aged 14 to 29, focusing on strengthening youth participation, leadership opportunities and well-being.
As one of Canada’s youngest and fastest-growing big cities, Brampton is home to more than 153,000 youth. Initiatives like the Explore Brampton Youth Pass reflect the City’s ongoing commitment to ensuring every young resident has the tools, freedom, and opportunity to thrive — regardless of their background or postal code.
Applications are available through the City of Brampton’s official website.
