Brampton has officially had its first snowfall and winter is just around the corner which means Brampton’s outdoor skating trails and rinks will officially be open for business.

The city currently has three outdoor trails: Gage Park, Chinguacousy Park, Mount Pleasant Village. And for the first time ever, the covered outdoor rink at Gore Meadows should also be open.

Chinguacousy Park’s new skating trail opened just two years ago and it’s become a popular spot. The Gage Park trail and Mount Pleasant’s outdoor rink are also as popular as ever. Now this year the epic new outdoor rink will join the three as a fourth place to skate outdoors in Brampton.

The new covered outdoor rink is part of Phase Two of the Gore Meadows Recreation Centre expansion. The 8,600 sq. ft. rink will come with a funky dome and will be the first of its kind in Brampton.

All of Brampton’s rinks are expected to open by the second week of December. As long as the weather in Brampton stays consistently below zero degrees Celsius during the first week of December, the city’s Parks and Recreation Department will proceed with creating the skating surfaces at the city’s outdoor rinks.
