This weekend is the official kickoff to the holiday season in Brampton, and Santa will be coming to town.
On Friday Brampton’s Winter Lights Weekend kicks off at 6 p.m. with all the thousands of twinkle lights in downtown Brampton getting turned on. The indoor Holiday Pop-Up Shoppe also starts on Friday and will run until Sunday.
The main event of the weekend is Brampton’s Santa Claus parade, though.
Santa will make his appearance in Brampton in the evening on Saturday, November 17. The parade travels along Ken Whillans and down Main Street going south.
It’s should be fantastic parade watching weather too. Originally snow and rain were expected for Saturday but now skies will be relatively clear with temperatures feeling around 0 degrees Celcius in the evening.
Some of the more popular spots to watch the parade are between Church Street and Wellington Street, where the bulk of downtown’s Christmas lights are on display.
Brampton’s Santa Claus parade was revived in 1986 and has since grown to be one of the largest nighttime parades in the country. The fun kicks off at 5 p.m.
