Brampton’s “Support Local” Campaign Shines Bright During 2023 Holiday Season

December 13, 2023 As the holiday season unfolds, Brampton’s resilient “Support Local” campaign continues to illuminate the city, echoing the call to back local businesses during these festive times.

In response to the ongoing challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Brampton first introduced the “Support Local” initiative in May 2020. The campaign, urging residents to Shop, Eat, Gift, and Support Local, aimed to provide a lifeline to businesses grappling with the pandemic’s economic impact.

Now, in 2023, the message remains clear: embrace the spirit of the season by championing the diverse array of Brampton’s small businesses.

The city acknowledges the vital role played by local businesses in sustaining Brampton’s economic vitality. A dedicated Economic Support Task Force has tirelessly engaged with over 5,000 businesses, offering support and solutions. Brampton City Council’s creation of the Task Force’s Economic Recovery Strategy underscores the commitment to rejuvenate the local economy, with the “Support Local” campaign leading the way.

“I encourage residents to Support Local and join us in rebuilding our city’s economy, supporting our valued business community, and investing in entrepreneurship. Together, we can make a difference in helping our great city recover from this crisis.”
– Patrick Brown, Mayor, City of Brampton

The campaign exists as a partnership between the City, the Brampton Board of Trade, Experience Brampton, and the Downtown Brampton BIA.
