On May 1, 2020, the organizers of Carabram, Brampton’s Multicultural Festival, announced that this year’s event is cancelled due to COVID-19 risk. It was originally planned for July 10, 11, 12

Carabram president Angela Johnson said, “Considering the crowds that attend Carabram could present a huge risk in potentially spreading the virus, we believe our priority must be the health and safety of our many visitors and volunteers and so, we have no choice but to cancel this year’s festival.”

She went on to add that she thanks all the sponsors, vendors, partners, suppliers and volunteers and that the organization plans to go forward with 2021 festival plans at this time.

Carabram is giving a donation to two local food banks, United Sikhs and Regen Brampton.

Johnson concluded, “On behalf of Carabram our thanks and gratitude to all front line workers, emergency services, grocery stores, pharmacists and everyone who continue to work to keep our community safe and well.”
