2. What are your three top priorities for Brampton?

  • Security
  • Social facilities/service
  • Housing

3. What is one major council decision from the previous (2014-2018) term that
you agree with?

I have always talked about transparency and accountability within the government, so I strongly agree with the decision to of putting all recording votes online for the people to see.

4. What is one major council decision from the previous (2014-2018) term that
you disagree with?

I totally disagree with the cancellation of the LRT.

5. Are there any other ideas from other cities that you would like to see
replicated in Brampton?

Like Toronto, I would love to see Brampton adapt a more frequent and adequate transportation system. Brampton has grown over the years and now consisting of young and old Bramptonians, many of especially young people who do not drive and work at various time of the day and or night would appreciate a service they can depend on to get them there.

6. What are your top transportation priorities to ease congestion and gridlock in
the city of Brampton and connections to other communities?

My top transportation priority is to reintroduce the idea of the LRT.

7. What are your thoughts on the Brampton 2040 Vision and how should the city
proceed with the vision?

I am the first to say change, because change is good. With the vision of 2040 plan I welcome it and look forward to be a part of the change were we will be able to attraction large corporation into our city to the economy and increase employment. In the case of cost of living I see more condos going up in the downtown core, but what about the northern part of the city and how much of this new development include affordable housing?

8. What is your position on the city’s finances and how would you tackle
demands for services and infrastructure renewal?

Until I am in the position to review the books and spending of the city I am not able to give a factual comment or review on the finances of the City, however I do know that Brampton has grown over the years and the demands on services and infrastructure would increase in all areas. One thing I will be advocating for wards 1 and 5 is transparency were the people would see themselves as part of the spending and inclusiveness of the spending of the taxpayers’ money. I will make customer service number one to my constituency; a more open door policy.

9. What are your thoughts on how the city/region should handle the alleged
uptick of spontaneous youth violence and crime in the city?

It is no doubt that gun violence has escalated rapidly in our cities and communities and among our young people. Residents are now beginning to feel unsafe, even in their own homes. The time has come for us as leaders in the community to stand up and take a stance. This platform is will not allow me to go more in debt of root cause and such, but one thing for sure I will be advocating for things such as rehabilitation programs for ex-convict, creating second chance programs, more preventive programs and rest assure I will seek ways in which all three level of government can come together and make changes to the present legislation of the youth act on crime.

10. Why should voters vote for you?

As an acknowledged community leader and caring mother, I am committed with deep convictions and passion for seeking solutions to the problems of the constituency, which have remained unsolved over the years.

My vision for ward 1 & 5, is to use my community relations experience, a community leader to pursue, at the City Council, the interests of the diverse population that now reside in Brampton (consisting of old Bramptonians, migrants from the GTA, young families and newcomers) in priority areas of need. In so doing, I will break away from the past sluggist and bogged down procedures of handing matters of priority to the people. I will constitute a strong advocate at the City Hall, in pursuit of the interests of my constituency, wards 1 & 5.
